What Ellie is doing now
I haven't done much in the way of updating you on the kinds of things Ellie has been doing because, frankly, there hasn't been a whole lot to tell. It's mostly eat, poop, cry, sleep. But lately, she has started to vocalize more. Instead of just crying, she makes funny "ooga" and "plbgth" noises more often. I think she also recognizes faces too. Especially when I am at work all day and come home, Lisa will bring her over and she will look at me with her eyebrows raised like "Hey, I know that guy!" This morning, she stared at Lisa for a good long while, making lots of faces (we're still attributing those to gas/movements). Lisa taught her to do the YMCA, and Ellie seemed to have a lot of fun with it.
Ellie also seems to be on a pretty good schedule with eating and sleeping. During the day, she eats a lot, every couple of hours or so. At night, she usually sleeps about 5 hours before waking us up to eat. Can't complain about that (knock on wood). She has been a bit crabby lately, but the doctors and everyone else tell us that the worst of it is six weeks, after that, it gets better. We can't wait till Ellie turns six weeks old on Friday.
Here's Ellie, aka Superbaby! She loves being carried around like a football. We think it feels good on her tummy...
