Yesterday was Ellie's first Thanksgiving. She even let us eat our turkey! We went over to have dinner with our friends Kate and Alex and a bunch of Kate's relatives. Lots of fun!

I teased you a bit the other day by mentioning that Ellie started smiling more and more. Well, she's also vocalizing pretty well too (and not just screaming incessantly, though that happens too). She will gurgle and yelp, and most fun of all, let out a little laugh on occasion.

Sheriff Max is on guard duty during trick or treat time. It's his favorite time of the year, because he gets to bark at everyone who comes to the door, and there are plenty of visitors!
Everyone keeps asking how Max and Ellie are getting along. Well, the answer is that they are still feeling each other out. Max is interested in smelly diapers, but leaves the room when she starts crying too loud. Ellie is just starting to realize who Max is. One of these days, she will figure out he is a dog, and pretty soon, she'll be terrorizing the poor guy by pulling his ears...
In other news, Ellie has been screaming her head off a lot more lately. It's very stressful, I must say. Lisa's parents are here for another visit this weekend, so thankfully we were able to get away from the screaming. It doesn't last more than a half hour usually, but that's plenty! We think she caught another cold (mainly because both of us did as well), but it doesn't seem to be too bad (no fever, just some sniffles).
Ellie is starting to make some interesting facial expressions nowadays. We're pretty sure that some of them are genuine and not related to gassiness too! We can almost guarantee a nice little smile with a zerbert.
I'm getting some more of the Halloween pictures together to put up. Hopefully I will have a little time over the weekend when Lisa's parents come to visit (again!) to post them, so look for them next week.
