White Thanksgiving??

| | Comments (2)

2004_1126Image0001.JPG
It was absolute madness for the first snowfall of 2004. Several inches on Wednesday resulted in 3 hour commutes home for some on the holiday.

2004_1126Image0027.JPG
Though it was a pain to shovel, Taylor loved every second of playing in the snow.

2004_1126Image0037.JPG
Taylor and I made a little family portrait with snowpeople. They lasted about 24 hours before the rains came and melted us all away.

Here is how we discovered the leak. I know, pretty tough to see, you are probably wondering how we even found it.

2004_1113Image0011.JPG
So like any good problem solver, I made a nice big hole. This was just the beginning, I made it about 3x3.

2004_1113Image0018.JPG
And here we have a little puddle. The puddle was what was causing the drips on the tape in the ceiling. The puddle was created by the pipe you see in the photo. This pipe is a vent stack pipe that goes up through the upstairs wall into the attic and then connects to another pipe running out of the roof. I know that it is not the drain from the upstairs bathroom because that pipe(not shown) is actually on the other side of the ceiling joist to the left of the vent stack pipe. It is leaking at the elbow connector. I am not sure why exactly, or how to stop it. Not sure if somehow it got backed up somewhere and water was just sitting in the pipe. So anyone with some ideas, please let me know. Thanks.

Hard Sleepers

Most of you that know me know that I sleep pretty hard, but I think Taylor takes the cake.

Austin is just a hard sleeper in training right now. But since he has been working so hard at standing up, he has been hitting the pillow a little harder.

Barry Bonds won his 4th straight MVP award and 7th overall. Could you please pass the juice?? Thanks. Juiced or not, he is the best offensive player in the game.

The Chicago White Sox improved their chances of missing the playoffs by missing out on Omar Vizquel. I can see how they would think he is not an upgrade from Jose Valentin, really I can.

The Mets better not get duped into picking up one of the biggest frauds in the game, Sammy Sosa. The guy is a crybaby, washed up, joke. Please, as bad as the Mets have become, please don't trade for this guy.

Eli has the reigns, finally. Kurt Warner was benched in St. Louis for a reason, maybe everyone should start to realize that he just ain't that good anymore.

Craig Krenzel is 3-0, WOW. The opportunistic Bears defense and special teams has evreything to do with that one. Why in the world do the Bears insist on taking any chances past 15 yards is beyond me. But Krenzel gets his first loss this weekend. Peyton Manning will get 4 tuddys for sure. Oh and Krenzel has a Career/Season passer rating of 49. Awesome.

And poor Edge, what is up with him?? He is supposedly 100% healthy. Is it just that the offense is really run by Manning. Besides having Edge run the first 20 times against Minnesota, the guy gets no chances to score in the red zone. Unless I am just blind.

Alias is only two months away.

Saw the Incredibles...Very good movie. Taylor actually sat through the whole thing. Okay so she didn't exactly sit, but she was definitely captivated. Her biggest problem with the whole experience was that it was sooooo loud. But Mom and Dad thoroughly enjoyed it...And we did take a chance with Austin too. He was a little anxious at first with the bright picture and loud noise but eventually ZONKED out and was crashed right until the end of the flick. We chose a 10:30am showing so it wouldn't be too crowded and that seemed to be a great option. In one of the huge theatres with almost noone there. Very nice.

I confess, I watch Desperate Housewives.

Christmas list to come.

Beginning of Bush round 2, abandon ship.

Any thoughts

| | Comments (2)

Anyone have thoughts on the new layout??? Brian has been helping a lot changing stuff around to make it easy for me to change styles and all that. Let me know if the new look is sharp. I will be making more entries shortly, including the overdue Halloween entry.

Man I can't believe that Thanksgiving is right around the corner. Man time flies.

Other ideas...I am thinking of doing a pictorial biography of my daily life, problem is that my work has banned the use of cameras in the building. I think it is related to two problems, people that are sick-minded using those picture phones in the locker room, and the fact that we deal with very personal information. I am sure they don't need people snapping pictures of credit data and sending it on to their buddies.

So the pictorial would eliminate alot of the everyday ACTION of me sitting at my desk with my thumb up my a...nose. But I may do it anyway, we will see.

Later peeps, more to come.

Another Test
