October 2005 Archives
Our weekend went as follows:
Friday we had the Grand Opening of the new Perceptive Software Building(Jenn's work). I wish I would have brought our camera for this event, it was a huge event. We were both sick so we didn't get to enjoy it as much as alot of others. There were at least five bars open with all kinds of booze, then there were just as many tables of appetizers and the best thing I found...A chocolate fountain bar!! They really spared no expense. The kids were entertained by our friends Jeff and Brenna who made cookies with icing and watched movies while we attended the open house.
Saturday we had Austin's tumbling class, Taylor's 'show' dance class and finally a surprise meeting of Hamburgler and Ronald at the McDonald's in Shawnee. The 'show' class is Taylor's recital of sorts, it's basically a class that the parents get to sit in on.
Sunday was a trip over to the ATC Haunted House which was short but fun. Austin was fearless and just went for the candy bowls, unfazed by the witches and monsters. Taylor on the other hand could not grab on to me tight enough, she was quite freaked out.
Finally Monday was of course Halloween. But first Taylor had swim class. She is getting much bolder in the water, she can swim with assistance from the floatable noodle and as of today she jumps in without holding on to anyone. If you had seen her in her first class back in August, you would really appreciate all that she has learned. After a much needed nap and some dinner, we were off to Trick or Treat. We hit some of the homes around our friends Jeff/Brenna, Bryan/Courtney and Jason/Brooke. Taylor was Kim Possible, Austin was Buzz Lightyear, I was Fred(Scooby Doo) and Jenn was Daphne(Scooby too). We must have missed most of the Trick or Treat crowd in the neighborhood because we got all of TWO sets of kids come by.
Austin's encounter with the Hamburglar.
McDonalds also had a balloon artist that made a nice little hat for Taylor.
Watching Ronald's show, you can see Austin in the front row.
Our brave little girl posing with Ronald, she was not very willing so it was the best I could get.
Outside the ATC Haunted House...The ATC is where Austin has his Tumbling class.
The aforementioned Jason and Brooke, with infant son Tanner.
Kim and Buzz in midseason Trick or Treat form.
Believe it or not, Taylor took this picture with our camera. We gave it a shot and she did a pretty good job.
That's it, Halloween Weekend 2005 has come and gone.
You celebrate!!
I passed my first exam and will receive the CIW Site Designer certification. I have taken a few courses so far, my next certification will be the CIW E-Commerce certification. I start the .net training at the end of November which is really what I am looking to get into. All those certifications come at the end of 5-6 months of classes, that should be rough.
I think I am going to go to Hawaii next week to celebrate the right way.
Jenn turned the big 3-1 on Saturday, we had a BIG party...Party of 5(Moi, Bday girl, Tay, Austin and Marv). Thanks to all that sent gifts, we now have two Rachel Ray Books. Of course, I am the one cooking so in a way I guess the books were for me. The first on the list was a Chicken Parmigiana...It was goooood!!
Below many pics of fun with the kids.
